Leaving Corporate to Pursue Creative Entrepreneurship with Cassie Valente

March 25, 2019

Today’s interview is with Cassie Valente from last July, before the mompreneur shift in my business was even a twinkle in my eye. Initially this podcast was to focus on creative entrepreneurship, so you’ll hear us focus on both motherhood & the freedom as a young, single entrepreneur.

Cassie is a destination, fine art wedding photographer based in San Francisco. She grew up in Atlanta, GA where she met her husband, Michael, and live in the city with their sweet pitbull, Rusty. (who frequents her instagram stories and he sure is cute!)

This was my first interview so bare with us as we bounce around, truly like we’re on a coffee date, getting to know one another. I think you’ll find some amazing advice throughout my conversation with Cassie, who left her corporate job after juggling both her day job and her photography for FOUR years and then relocating to the west coast.

A few stand out points about this episode:
– Planning your leap into entrepreneurship and saving up financially.
– Producing content so that everyone who knows you will associate you with your new career.
– Crafting and communicating your voice & style.

When I interviewed Cassie, she mentioned she had taught 1 workshop in Atlanta but I know now she’s hosted a few workshops since then and is seriously killing it as a creative entrepreneur. One thing I love about Cassie is how much she deeply cares for her clients throughout the wedding process. She is a thoughtful business owner and I so admire the kindness she exudes. And her Instagram stories need their own channel: cooking, photography & Rusty.

Follow Cassie’s beautiful work on Instagram and her website.
