My Top 4 Favorite Podcasts

September 29, 2017

Hi friends! I’ve become a huge podcast listener in the past 6 months. I listen to them while I edit, when I drive, while I get ready in the morning and that usually gets me through a couple podcasts a week. I LOVE PODCASTS. They motivate me and inspire me on a daily basis to be better, set bigger goals, and they help me achieve them! The content has me so excited that I thought some of my fellow photographer friends, girl bosses and clients might be interested in some recommendations.

1. The GaryVee Audio Experience

Gary Vaynerchuck is a self-made entrepreneur who grew his dad’s liquor store business into a $50 million e-commerce wine business in 5 years. He swears a lot, is pretty blunt, and cuts to the chase with his advice. I admire his drive, his market predictions and just sound advice about re-engineering how to increase growth. His podcast has motivated me to think beyond just being a photographer, but being the business woman I know I am. Hence, this blog post!

2. The Goal Digger Podcast by Jenna Kutcher

I’ll be honest, I listened to Jenna’s podcast early on and couldn’t get into it. She was a little too chipper, a little to scripted for me. I like the open forum type discussions in podcasts so I wasn’t sold. But I started listening to the interviews she did with other female entrepreneurs who I’ve admired and quickly realized that Jenna Kutcher has some AWESOME advice on how to build a brand and use social platforms, email marketing and reaching a larger target audience.

3. The Dave Ramsey Show

Zach and I have been on and off the Dave Ramsey plan (or the Total Money Makeover) since 2014 and while we have a long way to go, we have made huge lifestyle changes inspired by his plan. You might not agree with some of Dave’s principles on how to be wise with your money, but I highly recommend you view his plan as a big picture vs. step by step. His podcast is all about the listeners and what they are facing in their lives. He answers questions honestly and consistently to his principles and it totally helps Zach and I stay motivated to stay the course in our journey to becoming debt free!

4. Awesome with Alison

Alison is freaking hilarious. I love listening to her and her husband Eric. Even Zach started listening to her podcast because she’s so funny and also gives great advice on building a brand and self-improvement. I just always feel enlightened when I listen to her podcasts and have picked up some great pieces or “nuggets”, as she calls them, of advice!

If you’re a frequent podcaster or just looking to listen to something new on your commute, while you edit, or while you cook dinner, I hope these recommendations bring you information and joy like they have for me!
